The BiG Grid infrastructure is intended for research and scientific purposes. Although reasonable efforts are undertaken to protect the confidentiality of research data and the privacy of researchers that use the infrastructure, all use of the BiG Grid infrastructure is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy and the BiG Grid Security Policy (see 'Policies'). In particular, for data stored on BiG Grid resources as part of a single ‘virtual organisation’ (VO), one may expect that all members of that specific virtual organisation will be able to read all data - unless specific provisions are made and have been communicated to you. For others, data may be or become readable if access controls are not applied. Setting access controls is the responsibility of the user and the VO and neither BiG Grid nor the participating Resource Centres can prevent inappropriate permissions from being set by the user.
BiG Grid and the Sites will make reasonable efforts to protect your data from unauthorised access and security compromise, and your use of BiG Grid will not create any intellectual property rights in software, information and data provided to the Sites or in data generated by the Site in the processing of jobs.
Logged information, including information provided by you for registration purposes, shall be used for administrative, operational, accounting, monitoring and security purposes only. This information may be disclosed to other organizations anywhere in the world for these purposes. Although efforts are made to maintain confidentiality, no guarantees are given.
